How can I perform a system test?

(A) To ensure the proper functioning of your GE alarm monitoring system, it’s important to send an alarm signal to the monitoring station. To do this, contact the alarm company monitoring station at 866-642-4567 and request to place your account on test mode. This is done to prevent false alarms. When you reach out, ask for Customer Care and provide them with your name, address, and password associated with the system. The monitoring station will allow you to place the account on test for one hour. Once the test mode is activated, follow these steps:
  1. Arm the system by pressing the doors and windows button.
  2. Once the panel stops beeping, it means the exit delay has expired and the system is armed.
  3. Open an entry/exit door and allow the alarm to sound. Close the door, and repeat this step for all other entry/exit doors.
  4. While the alarm is still sounding, open and close all remaining doors and windows that are part of the system.
  5. While the alarm is still sounding, walk in front of the motion detector.
  6. Press and hold the EMS panic button for three seconds.
  7. Repeat step 6 for the Police panic button and the Fire panic button.
  8. Disarm the system using the 1+4-digit Master Code. The System Status light will be on.
  9. Press the “Status” button to check which zones have been activated.
  10. Enter the 4-digit Master Code again to disarm the system.
  11. After the system stops talking, press the Disarm button to clear the alarm memory.
  12. If all zones are closed, the System Status light will turn off.
  13. Wait for 3 to 4 minutes and then call the alarm company monitoring station to confirm that the signals have been received.
